Whoo Hoo, summer is finally here! As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, it becomes more challenging to keep the kiddos busy during those long hot days. Summer is full of festivities from festivals, carnivals, and street fairs to water parks and museums. Planning a summer full of daily activities is time-consuming and challenging, especially for those parents trying to balance family life as well as a full-time career. That's where Joanna’s Nannies comes in! We put together an updated list of family-friendly activities to do with the kids all summer in each of our general service areas from southern California all the way to Denver!
Southern California
Southern California is always full of life and activities in the summer. From different amusement parks to aquariums and zoos, there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Zoos and aquariums are great ways to enjoy some family time while also fueling their minds learning about animals! Southern California has many different options when it comes to going to the zoo or the aquarium. Amusement parks are great because it offers full for all ages from carnival games to roller coasters. Below is a list divided into each of our three general areas in southern California San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange County.

A lot of people assume wine country doesn’t have a lot of kid-friendly activities or things for the kids in particular. Wine country is full of adventure fit for the entire family. Wine country is known for its rolling green hills full of wineries, but it is also packed with life! When visiting wine country check out our list below of different activities, you can bring the kids to or hire one of our nannies to watch the kids while you and your significant other go on a wine tasting tour.

San Francisco is a city full of personality; everywhere you look something new is happening! Keeping up in such a fast pace environment can be a challenge, especially if you are from out of town. Planning a vacation to a city has its, including what activities are best for families or what ones are more adult oriented. California is one in a million for the fact that you can surf and ski on the same day if you genuinely wanted to. Although there is not usually snow come summer time, that's not the case this summer. Squaw Valley will be open until July, so there is still plenty of time to get some turns in! Lake Tahoe and Reno have much more to offer the skiing including hikes and bike rides around the lake to arcades in Reno! Lake Tahoe is a great family friendly vacation destination with fun for all ages!
