I don’t know many kids who wouldn’t be thrilled to spend a day with their family in “The Happiest Place on Earth.” However, there are a ton of rides, attractions, and shops to visit during your stay at the park. So how can you make the most out of your day at the Disneyland Resort? Read on for our tips to maximize your family’s fun while visiting Disneyland.

Advanced Planning

Having a plan is critical to any successful family outing and visiting Disneyland is no exception. There are plenty of items that can be taken care of in advance of your trip and it is wise to do so. One of the best things you can do is buy your tickets ahead of time by purchasing them online. This will help you and your family avoid wasting time waiting in line to get tickets and again to get into the park. Figure out the optimum length of time for your family to spend at the park. This will largely depend on the age and temperament of your children as well as how quickly they will become worn out. Based on the estimated time you will spend in the park and the weather forecast, pack what you will need for the day but don’t forget things like hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimsuits, and a change of clothes. Since you will be outside for extended stretches and moving around quite a bit, be sure to dress comfortably for your visit to the park.

Utilize Fastpass as Much as Possible

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the Disney theme parks, one of the realities of visiting Disneyland is that lines are inevitable. Fortunately, the theme park has a free, ride time reservation system known as Fastpass. While you are only allowed one pass at a time, making a reservation for a popular ride can allow your family to do more while others are waiting in line. It’s also important to note that California Adventure and Disneyland don’t use the same system so you can pick up one pass from each and then go on to a third activity. Timing is Critical

When visiting Disneyland, lines are generally shortest in the morning so if you have the option try to get to the park early. Typically, everything is less crowded during the fireworks show or parades so those may be excellent times to get on some of your favorite rides. Finally, keep in mind that everyone flocks to Space Mountain at the end of the night, so it’s probably better to hit that ride early.
